RIM and LFI | SUCCESS STORY

SUCCESSFUL TECHNOLOGY COMBINATION FOR MAXIMUM CUSTOMER BENEFIT
PARAT Technology convinced the international AGCO Group: together they developed a concept that combines different surface designs on large and complexly shaped components.

SUPPORT FROM START TO FINISH

At the beginning of the project, the development of a modular cladding concept with the best possible surface quality was of central importance. The challenge was to combine different surface designs on large, complexly shaped components, whereby both aesthetic and technical requirements had to be met.A joint decision was made in favour of combining two technologies (LFI/RIM) and two surfaces (foil/IMC) as the ideal solution. The result was an optimised tool concept that not only offers high-quality surfaces, but also increases the serviceability of the large-area cladding by optimising the weight.

TOGETHER FOR SUCCESS

Challenge

  • Optimum surface quality
  • UV, corrosion and scratch resistance of the high-gloss surface
  • Process reliability of the procedure
  • Cost-optimised tool concept
  • Overall budget compliance
  • Different surface designs and complex geometries

Service

  • Support in the development and production of panelling parts
  • Product and process-optimised tool concept
  • Design-to-cost
  • Combination of two technologies (LFI/RIM)
  • Despite complex geometries: Process with glass fibre reinforced plastic

Customer benefits

  • Reproducibility
  • Weight reduction: Optimised handling even with large-format parts
  • High-quality UV, corrosion and scratch-resistant Class A surfaces
  • Two surface designs thanks to two technologies
