Modular component concept for the future

PARAT Technology and Liebherr worked closely together to develop a modular component concept for the doors and bonnets of the new generation of excavators, manufactured using our innovative LFI technology.

The aim was to design individual components in such a way that they can be used for different series.
Another key objective was to significantly improve the surface finish of the existing components and make them more robust against external influences while adhering to the budget, quality and time constraints.

The advantages of LFI

As a result of the LFI process, the overall costs for modules can be reduced by 15 %, as up to 20 % of the individual components have been saved on several modules.
The considerable weight reduction leads to improved handling ofthe doors, which in turn will improve their user-friendliness and maintainability.
The excavator doors also boast highqualityUV, corrosion and scratch-resistant Class-A-surfaces.
